@devurandom Agreed. The point of what I said was basically that monarchies are no more harmful (in fact it seems far *less* harmful) than existing capitalist 'nobility'.
-
@devurandom Keeping monarchs makes sense in a system where there already exists a class which gets to live in luxury with no appreciable work anyway.
-
@devurandom Sweden and Denmark still have kings. Same with Spain, Netherlands, and others.
-
Weird thought: The modern justification for monarchy (Tourism!) is basically the world's most posh freak show.
-
Never forget to do this*

I almost tore down an anti-white-supremacist poster today because of this. I just saw it on the way to the bus stop. This poster had a big bold "IDENTITY EVROPA" at the top. When I went back to tear it down, I caught that it was advocating the opposite.
-
I know none of you guys will ever do this, but please, pay attention anyway: If you are making a poster which protests a thing. HAVE. SOMEONE. RANDOM. GLANCE. AT. IT. FIRST. They get 3 seconds to see it, then they tell you what the poster says.

Remember how in like 2013 all the cool kids in the fediverse put up gophersites?
-
I have not seen the "Big Bang Theory" spinoff "Little Sheldon". But this person has: https://social.tekk.in/url/30538 (Apologies to @noelle, it's just too good a format)

Failed game show ideas: Guess the quote: Karl Pilkington or Karl Marx?

@lnxw48a1 Amazon does that a lot. If you bother them about it they'll give you a month of prime.
-
Of it. Also probably in it.
-
@bram 1: if it exists then there's porn in it. 2: Clowns do a lot of work with balloons and balloon animals. Apply these as you will.
-
@bob Just wait until he finds when people combine this with clowns.

Yes, falafel *does* totally work in a #vegetarian meatball sub.

@paulfree14 (Context) PP (pronounced pepe) is the ruling party of Spain, the one in charge in Madrid. Despite the leftist-sounding name it's a conservative party founded by one of Franco's ministers.
-
Okay, I'll give you guys a break about Catalonia for a bit :)

Seriously though the arguments of Spain and the EU rest on respect for the existing state, which surely ostensibly has power only via the consent of the governed? What is a referendum if not a loud "we do not consent to your government "? Spain can complain about low turnout but that's on them imo
