@mike I'll bite. You could try Thunderbird with the enigmail add-on, and gpg, or you could go totally crazy, install the Linux subsystem for Windows.. Install pine and gpg,.. l know. Totally rediculous.

@mike Fng here..I tried diaspora for a while. As I recall , it was a bit artsy for me. Now maybe the issue is that I don't really fit into a set social category.. i.e. not an artist, not a programmer, not a foodie. So it could be not my cup of tea, but I can't see a mass appeal for it without fundamentally destroying it
