    Orange Pi One Plus looks nice. Quad core, 64bit. Would probably make a decent server, although 1GB is still too small if you want to run something like a Matrix homeserver. Pleroma would be fine though.

    @bob Exactly my point.  They're essentially trying to filter the fediverse through a centrally-controlled list, which essentially removes the element of decentralization and is a Bad Idea.

    @maiyannah Oh. So indeed having a centralized blocklist, or trying to pressure admins to all adopt the same blocklist, is a bad idea. Even if the block list is wonderful there is the question of who maintains it. The fediverse dictator?

    A little success story. Installing 32bit Debian 9 onto a 7 year old netbook and then editing in emacs is really fast. CPU use is about 5% or less.
