For reference, this is the old one: https://web.archive.org/web/20171222235533/https://www.freebsd.org/internal/code-of-conduct.html

Welp. I think if I ever go BSD it'll be OpenBSD. https://www.freebsd.org/internal/code-of-conduct.html

@camoceltic In the olden days there used to be a few rules for mailing lists at the signup page. Usually boiling down to "keep it on-topic" and "don't be an asshole". That's really all you need.
-
That feeling when you've been stumped on annoying issues for half a day and then realize halfway through the weekend: "oh wait, -0.7 + 1 isn't 0.7, it's 0.3".
-
And of course whenever a the topic of a CoC comes up (as in D doesn't moderate based on a CoC, don't think it even has one) there's someone popping in to say that the lack of a CoC is turning them off from a community. Well guess what, there's also a significant amount of people who are turned off by the presence of a CoC. I for one immediately throw any language that I don't have a professional use for that has a CoC in the garbage bin.

@katiekats I like to think of graphics like performance, it doesn't matter until it does. Which is to say for me at least graphics are one of the things I don't care about as long as they're not too lousy / old.
-
@gameragodzilla @maiyannah Oh there's no shortage of movies with kickass protagonists with a dark skin color. Blade, Shaft, etc. But those movies don't p!ace enough emphasis on skin color and so aren't progressive enough.
-
Sorry, but if your main promotional message for a movie is "the characters are black" I'm going to assume the movie is shit. Which is not to say an African superhero movie can't be interesting, in fact I think it would be. But there's a difference between a movie from hollywood about Africa and a movie from Africa born from African culture.
-
@camoceltic I once thought D&D rules, how complicated can it be. Now I'm wondering what's more complicated, the rules of D&D or the US Tax Code.
-
Oh, and btw, would it have killed the game designers to explain what the lower plains THAC0 means in the in-game tutorials? I mean, it's like the least obvious acronym ever and makes me feel like I'm playing a game of spreadsheet rather than an RPG. (For the curious, it means "To Hit Armor Class 0").
-
@maiyannah Well I haven't played any other so I can't really say.
-
Bought Icewind Dale. I'd like to say whether it's a good game or not but honestly I haven't come much further than watching the tutorials, get my ass kicked in a few on low difficultly level and now figuring out there's a manual. The manual is big. Guess that's what happens when you try to play an AD&D based game.

@halani Why kitties thing keyboards are so nice and soft is one of those eternal mysteries.
-
Most likely they're applying their price filter to the normal price instead of the current price. That's still silly though.
-
GoG is weird. Search for Dungeon Keeper with no filters: see DK1 and 2 both for less than 2 euro. Add filter for <5 euro and you can't find them.
-
@lnxw48a1 @gameragodzilla Well rattling sabres is kind of a family tradition there. ;)
-
@maiyannah @bob Yeah, that's pretty much what I do. It's on my list of sites I don't visit. Pretty much near the top of it actually.
-
@maiyannah @bob True. Though I'm not sure the ads or the miners (as opposed to the content) are the thing I'd most want to block on Salon...
-
@maiyannah @jessiscah24 Does she at least have more character development than Uhura? Cause it totally wouldn't surprise me if she doesn't.
