That was the most cliche, cheesy, over the top...fucking hell that was AWFUL.
Wild Wild West is a better steampunk film than whatever the fuck that's gonna be.

I just watched the trailer for Mortal Engines and I now I want to die.

@maiyannah
Yeah, some were altered to be less weird in more modern times, some, especially the old ones, became more 'fairytale' but by extension...quite a bit more sexist.
Disney giveth, and Disney taketh away.
-
@maiyannah
Mhm. As I mentioned, the newest Disney one in Wreck it Ralph 2 is the worst example I've seen. Since the princesses -generally- (it's a tad rocky) get less sexist as you get more modern, because of culture shifts.
So all the characters there making commentary, are from different periods of time, and personify the representation of things getting better over time.

@maiyannah @camoceltic
That's fair, as Camo notes, considering the track record it fits.
I was just purely commenting on the two 'sides' of the debate he mentions and how they're interacting.

They're doing a Bumblebee (Transformers) solo film.
Memes are real.

This stuff always really irritates me.
Because sexism (against either sex) is awful, being able to point out it's existence and stopping it in future, is important.
A lot of people haven't experienced it, or have grown to be used to it, or they're just sexist themselves, and thus it thrives.
But much in the same way as LGBT, Feminism, etc.
Actual issues keep being blurred, because opportunistic assholes and faceless corps, keep pushing it in wrong ways, in circumstances it doesn't make sense. Because they don't actually care themselves.
Then people see this stuff, rightfully think it's shit, but unforunately then blame the issue itself, rather than the corp/person misusing the issue.
None of these 'woke' examples actually -help- because these people and corps don't really want to help, they just want to be relatable enough to get money. All they do is irritate people and turn them against even those who are actually trying to do right.
It's not just bigoted people delaying progress, it's also those who couldn't care either way and exploit those who care for genuine problems, for their own ends.

Hell in the case of Wreck it Ralph 2 (I refuse to name the full title)
It's all the Disney princesses making this joke.
Oh boy I love it when a gigantic faceless corporation uses decades of beloved characters to forcefeed me their agenda! Yum!

And yeah I capitalized that R, what ya gonna do 'bout it, muhahaha.

"Jared Leto to Star in & Produce Standalone Joker Film for Warner Bros."
Lets hope the 'sources' are in the wrong here.

The first Red Dead was deeply mediocre at best, so not sure what the many expect from the sequel.

@gameragodzilla
The subject matter of...torture hell porn? Even from the first murmurings of it, it was that way inclined, in so far as I remember anyways.

@maiyannah
:o
I genuinely super like her design.
Also she has very cool hair.
-
@maiyannah
Love you darling.
Closest thing to rest you can get, would be good mhm.
-
@camoceltic
Hmm, okay. Thanks for your thoughts <3
I'll certainly keep it in mind then, but as prior noted in other posts, feel like I might be a bit more "ehh" on it if playing it -after- Pyre and Transistor.
Also I'm glad the music is as good as it is in the others, yes.
-
@maiyannah
I say 'choice system' when I guess Pyre has a lot of them with the conversations in general...
Specifically meant the...choice of...people, that go to the...place. >.> Vague as hell me trying not to spoil for anyone reading who may care (which is probably no one but still)
-
@maiyannah *nod nod* do the first two have similar choice systems as Pyre does or?
-
@maiyannah
So worth the play, but since the time I get round to it, it'd likely be after having played Pyre and Transistor, don't expect to be blown away.
-
@maiyannah
Consider my curiousity, piqued.
