In #NZ it's not unheard of for people to drive around in cars with a gas tank in the back, allowing the car to be a hybrid, running on #LPG or #CNG. Once you've got the hydrogen pressurized, I don't see why it's any more difficult to do the same thing.
@ajroach42
@ajroach42 hydrogen is one of the technologies that will be studied at a new clean energy research centre in #Taranaki, which the #NZ government announced NZ$27 million funding for last year:

@ckeen
Which brings me to the answer to your original question @ajroach42 , hyrogen, like most technologies that offer replacements for #FossilFuels, have been suffered from lack of development funding since the 1980s. I've heard that under Prez Carter, there were #SolarPanels on the White House roof and Reagan pulled them down.
@ckeen scale shmale. This is the common or garden objection to renewables and the ones that had have decent investment have scaled fine.
@ajroach42
@ajroach42
if you use intermittent #RenewableEnergy sources both to make the hydrogen (by electrolyzing water) and to run the pumps the pressurize it, you could make use of energy that's plentiful when demand is low. It could potentially make new kinds of rewewablesmore viable.

@wolf480pl I have a cutless? ;)
@wolf480pl Sounds good. How do we play remotely?
@sir But Won't Somebody Think of the Children?!?
Um ... we are. We don't want them to grow up in a totalitarian nightmare society where they have no privacy or freedom of expression.

@wolf480pl you sirrah, have offended my dignity. I'll ask you to nominate a second, fetch your cutlass, and defend yourself forthwith! ;-P
@wolf480pl That's a bit biocentric isn't it? Maybe it's machines.
"Maybe the machines didn't know what chicken tasted like, so that's why chicken tastes like everything!"
"... we should support the recommendations of the 250 scientists and medical doctors who signed the #5Gappeal that calls for an immediate moratorium on the deployment of #5G and demand that our government fund the research needed to adopt biologically based exposure limits that protect our #health and safety."

@wolf480pl now we're arguing about the motives of god, may you be touched by His Noodly Appendage, at which point the whole discussion becomes #StonerThoughts, not science ;)
"Ships without sailors could keep humans out of harmโs way, and that possibility is not their only potential benefit. Without crews, shippers could save money normally spent on salaries, keep boats away from shore for longer and, without wasting room on accommodations, try more efficient designs that would emit less pollution."

How about redeploying all the salary spending to new, on-shore activities, instead of firing people because you can?
