    4) stay out of social media and chat apps unless they are essential to what you're working on right then. There be dragons. They are sink holes for time.

    5) Beware the idles of March. In your own home, there are so many more potential distractions in your environment than at a workplace. I write things-to-do lists on paper, and keep them near enough to my workstation that I can tick off a completed task, and pick the next one to tackle without standing up.

    3) use audio to mark time. If I'm doing something that doesn't require careful concentration, like hanging out laundry or filing emails into folders, I put on a podcast. If it does, I put on some music. Either way, I pick something that will end when I intend to change activity next. When it stops, it pulls me out of what I'm doing and reminds me to switch activity. Any educational or entertainment benefit in anything I listen to is a bonus ;)

    2) humans cannot multitask, but we can multithread. Since we're meant to take 15 mins of every hour away from screens, I use one break to put a load of washing on and make a cuppa, the next break to put the next load on and hang out the first load, and the third break to hang out the second load and make another cuppa. By the end of a work day I've got a bunch of housework done and my brain doesn't feel like it's been stabbed with hot needles.

    @Gina I'm not @e0ipso , but since you asked, here's some tips from someone who's been #RemoteWorking for more than 20 years:
    1) worship the #ergonomics gods. Just like at work, your PC posture will have a huge impact on your stamina and your overall health. Unlike at work, your workstation is not your employer's responsibility, and you will spend a lot more of your work day stuck there. That's because a lot of what would normally be in-person work (eg meetings) will happen there too.

    @alcinnz oh? I haven't caught up with the latest comments. But from memory there are links to a couple of AP projects I added to the watchlist on the fediverse.party wiki:
    * #SemApps: http://semapps.org/?PagePrincipale&lang=en
    * #openEngiadina (#cpub server): https://openengiadina.net/

    @wyatwerp from memory, Taler can accept payments in crypto-tokens, but it doesn't depend on them.

    @dredmorbius it was already obvious a month ago that having thousands of people from all around the world travelling to Asia was unwise, let alone them gathering them indoors in huge crowds. The online-only conference ought to have been announced then, so everyone could cancel their travel and accommodation.

      Which links between ActivityPub and Solid project?
      from SocialHub
      Hi everyone! I work with Startin’Blox (https://startinblox.com/en/) and I am therefore closely following the development of the Solid community (https://solidproject.org/). I really think the ActivityPub and Solid projects are very complementary and we should work together. The two projects seem to defend a federated vision of the web and I am convinced that the two communities would benefit from coordinating their strategies on the long term. Is there anyone in the ActivityPub community fol...

    @alcinnz just ignore @Hamishcampbell, his tales about a "geek problem" are, to paraphrase the bard, full of sound and fury,
    signifying nothing. Eg:

    @alcinnz I still only have a vague idea of how the #SemanticWeb is meant to work, but that could be part of the solution. At least part of what's allowed platforms to overtake protocols is their ability to recommend related stuff. As I understand it, semantic web is about defining protocols for that.

    A suspicious mind might wonder if the organizers were instructed not to announce that the conference would be online-only until the 11th hour, so the Singaporean economy could still get its yearly boost of hotel bookings and other conference spending.

    One thing @feneas could do to reduce the number of users dependent on it's hosted services, is to set up a team that helps people learn to host servers. Once they have those skills and a bit of experience with self-hosting, they could be upskill on running larger community hosting operations, by helping with the services Feneas hosts.

    > is there an #ActivityPub or #Zot "plug-in" for a 'Contribute' button

    Good question. Maybe GNU #Taler could be useful here? It's designed to accept payment in a number of forms, while protecting the #privacy of the payer. Clicking the 'contribute' button could trigger a transaction on a Taler instance on the same server.
