Sleep is for the weak.
Someone please help me, I’ve become too strong and I need to rest again
@brainblasted yeah. Even the most progressive games are terrible at this.
Sometimes the skin tones are way off or you have to toggle lips and noses for hours. My biggest issue is natural hair bc even if they have the option (which is a very big IF), there's only like 2 hairstyles and they look messy and half-assed.
Also, it would be super easy to just randomize the character creator screen but they always start with a white char as a default ://
"the ads don't bother me much. i hardly notice them anymore" is such a cursed thing to hear, every time i hear it
Tech enthusiast: "I want smart lights, smart tv, everything, and connect them all to my digital assisstant!"
Tech worker: *looks wistfully into distance* "I should get a small place in a little town, with a garden, make my own furniture."
One thing I’ve noticed about the different character creation systems in games is that they really aren’t optimized for black people. I find it hard to make a character that doesn’t look like a white person with a bad burn, or the hair doesn’t look right. Often what looks good in the character creator looks terrible once you’re playing in the games normal lighting.
Earth: -suffering from heat stroke, including flashes of hot and cool temperatures throughout the atmosphere due to failing temperature regulation systems-
Humans:
One wish I have after using a touchscreen on the desktop for a while: I wish more things had a “touch” density. Common things like the GTK FileChooser are difficult to work with because the touch targets are too thin. Other general things like the right-click menu in Firefox are also hard to use.
@NecroTechno it’s already happening, but in an antisemitic, anti-immigration way. It’s really startling to see.
I think we need to be worried about reactionaries picking up anti-capitalist ideology and disseminating it better than us. The markets have been cruel to most, and it won't be long before the majority are looking for something else. It's going to be really fucked up if fash can pick up the pieces and if we can't.
you know what fucking sucks
how throughout history, building off of pre-existing stories has been what made stories popular and how people became more personally connected with art
popular plays used to be re-written dozens of times by different people before the original screenwriter had even died
sharing art was what connected culture together
but then capitalism
white people dont get to ask not to be told about racism. fuck you, you did this
I do wonder if Pleroma has an “approval mode”, though, where users can submit an application and I can approve it. Ideally it would have a questionnaire like kitty.town’s
So glad I moved to invite-only registrations a while back.
@juhani @handle the permissions in the sense of the GPL likely refer to the restrictions other apps put on how and when you can use a program via their licensing/ToS, not the functionality of the app. The GPL’s guarantee says “you have permission to run this in any place, at any time.” Other apps have restrictions on how many devices you can run it on, how many people can have access, how much you’ll need to pay beyond a certain point.
