Ok, so it's not much, but it's the first fully forged #knife I've made. Made from an old mower blade, with the tang end folded and forge welded, then drawn out slightly.
Took a punt & quenched in water & tempered to straw by heating the back of the blade & waiting for the colours to run. Sharpened to 8000 grit.
Tang was heated and pushed into the handle, burning it's own hole, then epoxied for final fitting.
As I said, it's nothing special, but a start. #blacksmith #metalwork

We're cleaning our old house today getting it ready for a tenant, and I found a nommy potato chip wedged between the fridge and the cabinet. Probably only a couple of months old.

This was the first school day in about 14 yrs when we didn't have to drive kid(s) to/from school. Our son is driving himself and his sister this year. Just #WOW THIS IS AMAZING.

What soldering iron do I need to melt solder on a 1950s appliance? I applied heat for 10 minutes to the power cord connections with my soldering iron and it didnt melt one tiny bit.

Major homeowner triumph tonight: I figured out how to replace the cords in the vintage blinds that came with the house. Cords kept breaking so I ordered 300 ft. of replacement cord and did the first replacements tonight. Fresh life in the old blinds! Wife was REALLY impressed. Usually she's kind of indulgently impressed LOL.

I've gotten several used HP Laserjet printers through the years and they always worked great with Linux. I still use one of them at work with my laptop. It was $3.99 at Goodwill ^_^
