@mngrif I'd almost buy that if it werent for the fact that a hand is standardized today (just as a stone is) and as such it is just as precise a measurement as any other really. No one is measuring them with literal hands anymore, particularly in competition.

@cwebber As someone who refuses to work on viral licenses like GPL and the related CC licenses I agree. I'm all for fixing the viral nature but am worried people will make it worse. I'm happy to just use apache or MIT until someone solves it.

Soon social media might fall under the laws of Common Carrier. Personally I would be ok with that.

@pschwede depends where in the hierarchy we are. But for most multi-cellular creatures then we are talking different species if they cant viably reproduce. If we are talking single cell then it may have some other definition like how easily it can undergo horizontal gene transfere or recombination or something. But there are usually definitions at every level.
