@katebowles @wion it's the Internet. If there's ever a place that should be policed and prohibited, it's the Internet. It's so easy to go down a rabbit hole and end up somewhere you shouldn't be.

@nexx that's the beauty of having choice - different strokes for different folks. 👍

@nexx I mean manual in terms of setting it up, not using the tool. I have to set it up with the browser extension (I had a bit of a faff with that), then set it all up on my phone and tablet, then ensure it's all synced in real-time. It was easier to use Bitwarden and have all the wasted time of fiddling with it.

@ChrisWere I found the same when using Ubuntu Budgie. The lack of software choices frustrated me with Solus in the end also. So, I went with Ubuntu Mate and manually themed it to look like budgie. Very please with the result!

@nexx I migrated from Lastpass to Keepass last month. However, the tool is very manual, so ended up going with Bitwarden instead - very happy so far.

@wion set up a proxy and monitor their traffic that way. Much easier, and logs don't lie. :)

@ChrisWere that's always the baseline test for me - do I get issues out of the box.

It could be something really basic and easy to fix, but it's generally indicative of incompatibility issues, so I generally ditch at that point.

@tdemin I agree. My oneplus is the best phone I've ever had.

@DistroJunkie I'm familiar with discus. Beautiful fish, but as you say, notoriously hard to keep. I'm happy with my shrimp and fancy goldfish tanks atm.

@tdemin I did, and as I said, if no one is using it, what's the point? Many of these companies are just reinventing the wheel unfortunately. They need to do something unique if they want to gain traction.

@tdemin my biggest bug bear with Signal is that no one can manage groups. So if you have someone you want out of a group, you either need to get them to leave voluntarily, or create a new group.

Plus, hardly anyone uses anything outside of iMessage and WhatsApp.

Can't stop looking at my new shrimp tank, I find them (and the fish we picked to accompany them) are just incredible.
