@sheogorath yeah, maybe you're right. Either way, as you said, it was handled well by both companies. Refreshing change.

@joseph I have the addon inside Firefox mobile, so I click the bitwarden text within the menu, it pops up a new tab with the matching login, I click it and it fills the data.

@joseph no, I think they do dedicated servers too. They're not cheap though.

Just saw some older gentleman at a pub unfold a meme printed on paper out of his pocket so that his other old man friends could all laugh about Conservative Jesus.

@art me too! I'm ALWAYS 5 mins early. I hate tardiness, I think it's very rude and disrespectful.

@joseph Digital Ocean - because they're innovative and awesome. They're always adding new tools and features that are actually useful to their users.

@joseph I don't have auto-fill enabled, so can't tell you, sorry. There's always a compromise between security and usability. I'll always go with the former.

@joseph ah, I see. I assume you put the DB on Dropbox or something to sync it then?
The paid version of bitwarden also allows totp storage - it's very handy.

Anyone else been asked to change their #Twitter password? Sounds like the exact same issue that GitHub had yesterday.
I wonder if these companies have known all along, but they're getting them out there before GDPR is enforced.

@joseph I've never used enpass, so not sure how it works. Had a look at their site, I see no mention of 2fa anywhere. Am I missing something?

@joseph I personally use Bitwarden. The lack of auto fill is actually by design. Auto fill lessens security. More info here: https://kevq.uk/bitwarden-lastpass-alternative/

@mattmcnutt @brandon WordPress is particularly vulnerable to hacking, that is correct. However, it has nothing to do with being open source. It's more vulnerable for the same reason Windows is vulnerable to viruses - popularity.
...and also because its code is full of holes.

@joseph if the instance closes, your data is gone. They communicate with one another, but the data is stored on that instance.
You can export some of your data, as a backup, from the settings page.
