Good morning mastodon (Europe)! Time for coffee! And marmalade. On toast. Marmalade in coffee sounds gross.
Breakfast: From Middle English brekefast, brekefaste, equivalent to break + fast (literally, "to end the nightly fast").
My wife bought a thermometer, so now, in the name of science, I am forced to drink my espressos at different temperatures, too see what tastes best.
It is my sacrifice to the world, for science.
Installing Alpine Linux on a testbox. This is really a great specialty distro. It is small, fast and close to the metal (like arch), but at the same time, easy to use/install (unlike arch), with a bunch of great helper-scripts to get you going.
@catonano speaking of clojure, and compiling one thing into another:
https://github.com/nakkaya/ferret
Ferret is a free software lisp implementation designed to be used in real time embedded control systems. Ferret lisp compiles down to self contained C++11.
The coolest thing is that the source of the whole system is a single Org mode file. So the manual *is* the source code in true literal programming style.
Found on http://planet.emacsen.org
@thegibson you might want to include *why* one might want to do that, and how to import your old content/contacts
#editbacklog in between spending way too much time here, and avoiding the noon sun, I did manage to do some #photography today
2018. #Datca, #Turkey.
Just a composition exploration shot before I got out the infrared filter and tripod. (those will be edited when I get home to my work station - I can't see colors on my travel laptop screen. This was edited by looking at the histogram)

@nev in that case I would look into something like this:
https://askubuntu.com/questions/950071/create-loop-device-for-ext4-filesystem#950082
For the longterm solution nextloud might be a more prudent solution, but a local device will allow you to have an unencrypted ext4 filesystem on top of your (hopefully) encrypted home folder.
Just make sure you start dropbox *after* you mount $HOME/dropbox
@schestowitz at least now a we have an alternative #mastodon
@nev you can use the website...
#birbs telling me all I missed in the last couple days ...
@newsbot because that's how you capture law-abiding pedophiles and terrorists.
@wilkie I truly don't want to be contrarian, but I would much rather wish nazis to not ever be fucked again, ever. Not even looked at breathlessly...
That's what I wish them... But then, I quite dislike nazis.
@protospork if the files are bigger binary files then hit its sub-obtimal but never fear! Now we have got git-lfs:
@rain1 I like it when people tag stuff, like:
I wrote a lisp interpreter in c
Then other lisp nerds can find it when we search for #lisp :blobcool:
@ted the only app I ever enjoyed using was enigmail. But I don't really have a use for secure mail :-( nobody I mail with seems interested.
@protospork for a one-time-exfiltration: rsync. If more often: git
Both over ssh.
@hollyamory never knew this, seeing captions is both easy and obviously important for the visually impared. Tasks for pointing this out.
