@m3g5 Ha! I still build plenty of character then, just not for work. My kids have caused me to spend far more nights on the floor than work over the last ten years.
@Indie They're really handy devices to be sure. I'm just not a fan of all the information they collect on us. I'd much rather control my own information and still have the same capabilities.
Imagine a Mycroft system with an in house server, where all of your smart home and applicant functionality was covered, and all external requests were funneled through a VPN and TOR. You'd be able to have all the same functionality and still stay private. Have your cake and eat it too.
@Indie You and me both! So, if there's anybody out there in the Fed just looking for two people they're willing to pay to try things, please let us know.
@Indie Heh, when I went to create an account, it wouldn't let me use my email address because it was already used. Reset the password on it, and low and behold I've tried this before. There's entries in there from 2012. Just test stuff though. Doesn't look like I used it for anything. I'll have to give it ANOTHER look. :)
@Indie Cool. I switched over at work today too (I've been using the "suggested" work browser but I just couldn't stand it anymore). It was pretty slow this morning on my work computer (Windows 7 on a VPN to San Fran), but it's been really fast on my personal computer (Mint 19). Ironically, my personal system is several years older than my work computer. Take that for what you will.
@fatboy Definitely, though names like "Google", "Bing", and "Yahoo!" aren't exactly "normal". They just make sense to us because they've been around for so long. Maybe in 10-15 years, DuckDuckGo or SwissCows will sound like normal words for us to say in conversation?
@fatboy That's been something I've asked in the past too. There's part of me that likes these weird names, but there's another part that has to say them in meetings with executives.
@Indie Yea, there's a new version either yesterday or today. There's some new stuff in there. Might help the delay you're seeing too (dunno, just a guess).
@codesections Probably not me. I've had sick kids home all week and part of the weekend too, so I've been a bit disconnected. Sorry if it's a bit repetitious.
