Hey fedi- I used to work at a thrift store; and if you are donating some old books, here are some that aren't worth the resources spent transporting, sorting, and pricing them because they just don't sell:
- cookbooks
- dictionaries
- encyclopedias
- best seller novels like HP, Twilight, The Hunger Games, etc. So many of these are donated that most don't move
- self-help books, especially best sellers, for the same reason
- Chicken Soup for anyone's soul

People only think Windows "just works" because they get it preinstalled and already configured by the PC/laptop manufacturer.

On my Dell laptop, whenever I wanted to install Windows I needed to go on another machine, download 20 .exes and put them on a USB drive, because there were no drivers on a clean Windows install and I couldn't even access the internet.

The first time I installed GNU/Linux on that laptop I almost screamed "ARE YOU F-ING KIDDING ME? HOW IS THIS *ALREADY* WORKING?"
