Being a nerdy xenophile and all I generally am pretty excited about discovering a regional or site-specific food that is new to me but tbh I just couldn't bring myself to ask about that last sundae type.

Twenty years or so ago, we had a heat wave in Wichita over Labor Day weekend and her central A/C went out. We ran all over town trying to find somewhere that still had a window unit in stock that late in the year, and finally found a clearance/OOB one at Home Depot.

Now I live further north *and* closer to the Atlantic, it is September 23, and I just turned on the house A/C. 🔥 🌡 🔥

And Home Depot had plenty of window units in stock because they're not out of season yet.

@inmysocks There are variations on the original 12. I have a staunchly-atheist friend who has been through 12-step. (I don't, as a rule, fave things on Twitter, but I make an exception for his sobriety-anniversary tweets.)

@pasqui023 Yeah, I invite all of "them" to come visit the Jersey Shore and ask the old-timers what areas flood now twice a month (new/full moons) that didn't used to a decade or so ago.

Okay, it may officially be fall, but I'm officially going to have to turn the AC back on: highs of 84/86/88/90F for the next four days.

@alpacaherder @lnxw48a1 The dumbest names seem to turn up specifically in security (although you're not off the hook, Grunt and whatnot) which I have to wonder if it reflects a problematic culture: non-IT management viewing security people as not taking things seriously enough, or security people having difficulty convincing non-IT management of the seriousness of things, etc.

So apparently Pandora is single-opt-in.

Also there's a 17yo in Arizona who shares my name and is uncertain as to what her GMail address is.

And who no longer has a Pandora account.

@BrodyBr I am trying to picture having a serious conversation about computer security in the bank I worked for in '99, only with today's security tool names. Even marketing would laugh at us.
