@dredmorbius Now that I'm looking into the logfiles some more I think I might have simply happened upon that one page that includes two dozen images that are also hosted on the same wiki, and I just missed that little key aspect. π I think I'm going to delete that original toot for spreading false rumours!
@dredmorbius I wonder. Perhaps it's part of some sort of "service" by the ISP of this hotel? I checked my browser config and network.prefetch-next is set to false. Oh well.
@sivy Same here. I was very happy that one time I was able to call, send in all the documentation I had, wait for a few weeks, and get the money back at the end. To console myself I compare this cost of trust with the bitcoin cost of mistrust: "Comparing Bitcoinβs energy consumption to other payment systems" in https://digiconomist.net/bitcoin-energy-consumption and related data...
Today was fake checkout day. At the desk, luggage in hand, we discover that we have one more day in Porto. Oh well! Back into the room we go. Letβs find some churches and parks!
Sitting in a hotel room and missing a way to doodle some music and stumbling upon a free and open source synthesizer for the iPhoneβ¦ how is this possible? https://audiokitpro.com/synth/ Iβve been spending an hour going crazy on the phone!
@pekman Hello! I see your timeline has a lot of Portuguese toots (particularly your own) β sadly the Trunk we're running is focused on English readers. That's why we try to add only English writing accounts to it. I'd love for somebody to start a site with Portuguese writing fediverse people, though. Sadly, that person is not me.
@dredmorbius They offer NO TABS. I hear a certain class of tab-addicts night benefit. Also, no bookmarks. I have it, and i sometimes use it to look for stuff I know I wonβt bookmark. References, Wikipedia articles, diseases, monuments.
The bridge was finished in 1886. Pictures of itβs construction on Wikipedia. Can I also say one more time that I love the sea? It calls at me. When I hear the roar of the waves and feel the sand between my toes, there is a special kind of peace, of being in the present. Instant grounding. I hardly ever see the sea when it is angry. I like the waves and the beach and the sun and the glare. I donβt like hurricanes.
My wife made some pictures on the way to the beaches. Check out the pictures online about the interior of SΓ£o Francisco church. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Church_of_S%C3%A3o_Francisco_(Porto) I love rocky beaches and the waves of the Atlantic. Waves make the ocean my friend. As always, a cool wind was blowing. Great if youβre running, not so great if you just want to lie in the sun. But thatβs boring anyway. #Photography#Portugal#Porto
