    Close elements should still be lighter and distant elements should still be darker – even in a dark UI.

    Looks like the linux kernel people finally found something to replace their hardcore love of Google+ after it died, https://people.kernel.org/. its using @write_as as its backend which is awesomely open and federated with activity pub.

    @impiaaa There's a difference between web APIs and a C API. The latter usually comes as a library, and you _literally_ link to it. With a web API, you can write a library to interface it, from scratch, without reusing any code.

    The article would be clearer if it said "C library" instead of "C API", I believe.

    If you use the blender libraries, you have to abide the GPL. If you reimplement the same API, you don't (well, you do, since Oracle vs Google :/).

    One of my former coworkers was hard into performative masculinity.

    Which is annoying, but what was hilarious was how incredibly BAD he was at it

    I come in with my floral ties, and colorful socks, and gushy lovey doveiness, and just outdo him at every single “masculine” thing he had forced himself to care about

    And I’m like dude you know why you’re so bad at this? Because you HATE it. You just want to be this ultra manly man because that’s what an internet forum told you to do

    The only reason I’m better than you at cleaning a carburetor, or welding, or repairing a chainsaw is because I LOVE to do all these things

    Your toxic masculinity is getting IN THE WAY of you learning how to do these things, because you think it’s supposed to be in your blood or balls or whatever

    ❤️You can’t learn anything if your starting point is hate❤️
