@sconlan @ink_slinger @keithzg yeah the new girl around the house is going to keep things a bit busy for the short term. Though the 3-6am shifts might make for some bored hacker time.

It also helps that I write and deploy Elixir & Erlang applications at dayjob vs. mastodon being basically the only rails app that I've maintained in production.

Or maybe its just another AP server that implements an object type for IRC messages so regular mastodon would handle it totally separately.

alternative activitypub client idea based on @balrogboogie 's new rust TUI client:

IRC style where "channels" are just hashtags that you can "join" locally, and you're only able to post into the hashtag channel that you're in.

and formatting, extra hashtags, @ conversations are all removed and you can't add new hashtags to posts.

@jauntywunderkind420 i think there might be a recession and employers will have to look more closely at who entered the field because it's in demand and lucrative vs. who is actually good at doing software engineering -- but the pervasive need for software and hardware folks will not go away.
