"No thanks, here's our private key, you can use it to get to any server"

I can't believe laptops are still sold in 2019 with rusty platters.
@kaniini and realistic damage! and keep track of all your crimes, and you if you are caught you actually can't drive in the game again until the jail sentence is up in IRL time.
Hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend :)
@celesteh i wonder how effective it is, and if they're enough to obfuscate some of your biometric points / facial geometry.
~=8 Character Passwords Are Dead=~
New benchmark from the Hashcat Team shows a 2080Ti GPU passing 100 Billion password guesses per second (NTLM hash).
This means that the entire keyspace, or every possible combination of:
- Upper
- Lower
- Number
- Symbol
...of an 8 character password can be guessed in:
~2.5 hours
(8x 2080Ti GPUs against NTLM Windows hash)
Why is there so little awareness in IT/infosec circles of the environmental impact of flying?
All the time you can read tweets/toots like "Attended conference X, spoke about Y. Tried to save the world from EvilCorp. So exhausted. Now waiting at the airport for my long distance flight to Z".
Shouldn't we have a more holistic view of things? Isn't decentralization one of our main motives? An uninhabitable planet full of Free Software is still... uninhabitable 🤔
I love arch linux :archlinux2:
@lnxw48a1 I've considered this method as well.
Or at least mail a 2FA device so you can't be forced to log in.
I can't stop calling Zapdos Voltres
Finally running A/B speed test with SSH forwarding vs. OpenVPN on my home proxy server.
Original OpenVPN setup:
68.51M 1.81MB/s in 30s
New SSH -R Fwd:
68.51M 6.98MB/s in 9.0s
Seems like an ez win

Apparently, you can also feel free to skip steps 2 and 3.
I wouldn't feel bad if someone said they were making more money than me, or feel better than anyone who said they were making less.
I feel there could be folks who are in a less fortunate position, who may feel like I'm frolicking in and performing obscene "make it rain" gestures. I'm afraid of making anyone feel that way.
I'm feeling too diffident to participate after looking into the threads. I wish i felt more self-confident to be able to speak freely about it.
Perhaps it's a product of my environment, or upbringing that it's not a conversation point you should discuss publicly.
@dthompson good news! you can get a replacement on Amazon for only CDN$ 546.92.
@codesections from what I've seen in my local professional circles, a lot of PHP web developers are moving to Python.
I made that jump about 8-9 years ago and it was a really easy onboarding experience, and there were a lot of folks online sympathetic to the escaping PHP population.
@amic and then run "sudo !!"
@intrepidduckling my wife had a cat that looked very similar, lived til' 17 I believe.
she was probably the loudest cat I've ever known!
