I still need to swap the ATX PSU in my home server for an SFX PSU, rebuild it onto twin MDADMed boot disks and replace the HDDs because they either have noisy spindles. Sadly that has a ridiculous dependency chain....

I am an owned, denied submissive. I am controlled (sexually and in many other respects). I am pegged on a regular basis and permanently denied the use of my genitals. And I am very happy with his arrangement.

I am a cis* white male. I somehow sometimes feel unwelcome here. Not really something I expected. I know other places are not inclusive, but honestly wonder why the fediverse has to marginalise people like me for traits we can't change when we are otherwise open minded and generally non-comformist?

Ahh. I see. Presumably not designed to be repaired... Last consumer grade laptop I pulled apart wound up in the bin. Designing complex things in such a way you can't dissemble and repair them should've illegal. -

I haven't come across a Dell (latitude/XPS) yet that was too difficult to take apart. XPS requires spudgering. -

Prof Bit Rot (professorbitrot@mastodon.technology)'s status on Tuesday, 04-Dec-2018 02:20:52 EST Prof Bit Rot It is sad that so many people use free speech to express hatred rather than exercise democracy. Those people are abusing their right and ducking their responsibility. It is damaging for all of us and playing into the hands of those who subvert democracy.

Prof Bit Rot (professorbitrot@mastodon.technology)'s status on Tuesday, 04-Dec-2018 02:16:47 EST Prof Bit Rot Never will a word of hate pass my lips. Because I take my 'right' to free speech seriously. With every right there is a responsibility. Why tho, do I defend free speech? Because it is essential if we are to hold governments to account. It is the right of whistleblowers to call things out. It is the freedom to civilly disagree with my neighbour. I don't believe in censorship. But I do believe people should be excellent to each other and exercise rights responsibly.

Or Debian/Ubuntu and preseed to configure them. ZFS is not the way to go for this as the machines need to be up and running before you can send a snapshot to them. With a PXE server you can get zero touch from bare metal.

Have you got a device you can off load the compilation onto? For instance I have Jenkins running on a server at home which is monitoring my repository, so I can get that to compile anything I can commit. Basically means my laptop just needs to run a text editor/IDE.
