@archer72 Oh wait, you said building directly from sourcre (not via the slackbuilds script) built it for the wrong kernel? Then it's gotta be something in the source. @klaatu @thaj

@archer72 Hmm. Seems like it might be something with the Slackbuild script. Might have to look it over again. @klaatu @thaj

@archer72 @klaatu @thaj Just curious; After compiling, did you ever run depmod?

I think that they're just paying homage to Debian. It can run on anything. Even Chickens. πIn conversation from fosstodon.org permalink Repeated by claudiom -

@erlequin Well, that's because it runs well on that laptop compared to Firefox. It has a Pentium M CPU. π

Looks like #Fedora will be the next #Linux distribution dropping support for 32-bit i686 architectures with #Fedora31, though 32-bit applications will still be supported in 64-bit installations.
At this point, I don't think it's going to be a big deal for most users. Anyone still running 32-bit x86 platforms have many other options, especially on the BSD side if necessary.

@aladar I agree that it's a problem, and a lot of other Linux gamers agree as well. Game devs should just ignore those trolls because they're going to troll no matter what. With that kind of explanation given, I would have been fine with a Proton version. The dev was honest about it.
