I am reading some Dadaist journals and magazines from 1915-1925 period. They are very beautiful, visionary and use the typeface and type layout as a design element in the magazine. They have a minimalist approach, with an active attempt to break away from traditional layout. Very Avant Garde indeed.

Ikigai magazine will feature science fiction writing and its derivate genres.

The submission for ikigai has begun and the deadline is 10 June 2018. The first edition will publish over Summer 2018.

ikigai will be developed with the experience that I have gained from Kintsugi.

I am to feature debut writing and unpublished writing from new or long term writers.

Concept designs for the ikigai project (2018). Ikigai is a Japanese concept which translates as purpose for being or raison d'etre (in French). It is when a person finds their purpose by aligning their skills, abilities, aspirations in different parts of their life to achieve harmony and a perfect fit with their reality.

Essentially this is what writing, especially science fiction writing tries to achieve. It tries to define a future where our reality can match our expectations.
