Inevitably, the too-much-time-on-their-hands brigade have come for Pepe le Pew.

I wanted to run a test VM for some concept stuff and VmWare Fusion is broken on MacOS Big Sur.

Shit like this is really infuriating, and in proprietary software - especially in MacOS - fixes take forever.

So out comes the 8yr old Linux laptop and everything works perfectly. Just a little slower but I can get shit done.

@onepict You have a point. L Ron Hubbard started Scientology as a bit of a wheeze. So did the Flat Earth Movement. Then a lot of people start taking it seriously, and off we go.

@onepict I don't understand why anybody could wish someone dead when they can cite no example of harm to themselves or others. And yet it is extremely common.

@onepict Right. I was looking at the false 'Elon Musk is dead' thing at Twitter today as another example and had the thought that most people don't reflect on why they do the things they do.

macOS Big Sur's not too bad. I'm not well embedded in the Apple ecosystem (laptop provided by work) so don't have much need for a lot of the power toys, but it's got a pleasing color palette, even if it looks like a pastel set has spilled into the computer.

@SeventhMagpie Just seen an elderly lady doing her shopping with a cherry red Ural Sidecar! It's freezing outside and she said she does it a lot but it takes twice as long because of everybody talking to her... ☺️

@guizzy Rebellions in Medieval Total War used to piss me off for the same reason. Long past the point they can survive, rebel factions will continue a fanatic defense.

@guizzy There's not many strategic AI games out there that do this well.
