ahh yuuup. kodi freakin sucks with music. i use airsonic to stream to my android which i then stream to kodi using uPnP, which is very hacky i know
there's probs a way to get kodi to interface with airsonic but i havent figured that out yet

airsonic is packaged as war (java?), which makes it p easy to run, and just point it at your picard/beets music folder and you're good to go 👍🏾

I'm using airsonic, which iirc is a fork of subsonic. highly recommend both, funkwhale recently implemented their api too
works great with dsub on android over network. depending on the size of your library it does get a lil slow tho (not streaming/dsub, but the web interface)

i tried mpd before but it was v finicky over network (nothing looks as cool as ncmpcpp + mpd on linux though imo)
