    @katnjia Everyone feels like that before their first party. Thing is everyone else there is very eager to talk about their projects and hear about others', and as halcy says, if you have *something* to show then you'll be fine. Oh, and being the odd one out is kind of hard when everyone is odd :]

    I'd suggest finding a local party (via demoparty.net), join its IRC channel and hang out there for a bit. If you get to know at least one person they'll no doubt introduce you to a bunch more at the party

    Does anyone on here know how to #rsync stuff which are write-protected, like .git object files? Without being root that is. It's highly annoying, since it would work if I just chmod things beforehand

    @anna Correct me if I'm wrong, but part of Discord's onboarding is that it has a Web client, yes? Web-IRC and Web-XMPP are definitely things. It also seems part of Discord's success is due to spamming Reddit about it, which can also be done. And clients that cater to gamer-americans can always be written

    @anna Federated Discord exists already, it's IRC. IRCv3 especially is looking like it fixes a lot of shortcomings

    And as always, if even half the effort that went into developing Matrix went into improving some XMPP client (say Gajim) then we could just use that, perhaps bundle it with Prosody under some brand that makes it easier for j random user to talk about it. Like I dunno, "Harmony" as a play on Discord

    @kr4dio I guess that affects the telemetry plots too? Having to log in is annoying, but I guess it's either that or actually get off my butt and start logging packets myself. I believe he even put into the HTML a big 'ol "don't scrapy my site, use APRS-IS instead". Oh well

    I've been using APRS-IS for a while to keep the latest packet for displaying whenever I log into my server, giving a quick view of current telemetry

    I *suspect* it has something to do with me not sending out any GPS position to go along with the telemetry. But it has worked fine for well over a year until now

    Hrm, my #APRS telemetry is no longer making it onto aprs.fi, but I do see the packets showing up on the rotate.aprs2.net telnet service. Has anyone else encountered something like this?
