Also helping rehabilitate abusers, instead of just assuming they're beyond reproach. I understand serial abusers are unlikely to change, and people have to want to change, but you'd be surprised how many abusers want the cycle to end but need help erasing all the years of conditioning they've had (often from their own abuse) that the way they're behaving is okay.
@Elizafox I'll definitely support you
@Elizafox so proud of you! Real progress.
Good evening everyone. If you're thinking about going to the ballot box, I urge you to be very careful.
@Elizafox hey QT, right OnCue! You want to Wawa and Love's under the Sheetz? Not just a Kum and Go!
@jadenw ouch.
Depends on the number of cores, really. My 8 core system won't max out 16 GB, but any more and it will.
@sroracle hi touchstarved, I'm Anna!
๐๐ป
@jadenw honestly .women would probably be used for abuse too, unfortunately.
@raven happy birthday ๐ ๐
even if you feel like you're cold and dead inside, you're still beautiful!
Overslept by almost two hours because I woke up multiple times from vivid, horrifying nightmares of implausible but realistic scenarios.
I really, really dislike wifi as a programmer.
Like, I love using it, but it is a horrible thing to program.
And I still did WiFi programming for three days, because I'm trying THAT HARD to avoid disk partitioner programming.
And now I have nothing else to stall with ๐ฟ
boost and i will assign you a doorsona

What a ride
@Elizafox hm. So. They're like internet trolls.
That makes a disturbing amount of sense in hindsightโฆ
@Elizafox right, my actual goal here is understanding how to lessen or even eliminate the latter type (the tantrum throwers)
Obviously we aren't finished until classism and racism are removed from the structures of society, and from everyone in positions of power.
But we have this whole new generation of people coming up (Z's offspring), and I feel like we should be trying to teach them from the get-go to respect all people regardless of who or what they are.
I've had this thought in my head for a few weeks and I really want input from PoC and other minority/marginalised groups:
Affirmative action is important to have but it is only a bandaid over the real problem.
It's like preschool: "billy, you have to share your toys". Yes, he needs punishment for not sharing, but I feel like the actual thing to do is teach sharing in the first place so punishment isn't needed.
So how do we teach better acceptance?
