The only way humanity could act quickly enough to have any chance of halting the irreversible destruction being wrought on the environment and climate at the moment is if violent mass riots erupted all over the world at the same time, causing politicians to panic and change their course.
If we take the science seriously and not as speculation, we should technically be panicking right now. Instead, even the most eco-conscious people are just calmly continuing their everyday lives.

I wonder why there's this ceaseless focus on superheroes in Hollywood these days. It seems like a form of escapism. Society wants to completely detach from reality. It's like we've mentally returned to the 1950s and are in love with pulp fiction again. To really complete the picture, Russia is back to being bad again, and we're still convinced we're all going to die, this time from global warming.

Can we invent the term "the Federati" for the shadowy organisation that secretly controls the Fediverse?🕴️

@coldacid I can see a tangential connection between the answer I'm looking for and what you're saying, but not a direct one.

Can you guess what this represents without further explanation, apart from what's obvious, i.e. it represents three sensitivity bands in the visible light spectrum and is probably related to RGB?

Somewhat disappointed that no one immediately PM'ed me to ask about working together on electronics projects after I posted that ad.
This is not helping me debunk my "no one gives a shit" theory, guys...

Huh... Something the Labour Party and the (populist right-wing) Progress Party can agree on for once:
Making UN quota refugees sign a contract binding them to adhere to Norwegian values in order to grant them asylum.
These values include:
* Respecting the freedom of speech
* Adhering to the freedom of religion
* Raising children without spanking them
* Letting girls pick their own boyfriendsIt's literally a social contract that you sign.

Does anyone here want to work with me on electronics projects? Maybe you've seen the surround mixer I built, or the microphone I'm designing? Well, I want a partner in crime.
If you know your way around a circuit board, and you want to create stuff together, for fun and possibly profit, ping me!
It would be majorly beneficial if you're online around 16.00 - 21.00 UTC on weekdays and 06:00 - 21:00 UTC on weekends, since the comotivation aspect is just as important as sharing the workload.

@PhotonQyv Actually changing my situation isn't necessarily crucial, but I want to go on a journey of some kind. Having stuff that you personally care about is important. I don't personally care about anything I do at work, for example. That stuff is gone when I leave the office.
I guess I could start one of my electronics projects, but I wish I had a partner in crime on those.

@PhotonQyv I think big change is what keeps life interesting, and I have no big change planned. I have lived in the same apartment for years. I did change jobs a few months ago, but the novelty has worn off. I had bariatric surgery a year ago and I have finally started working out, and that's probably a big deal, but is more of a lifestyle adjustment and ongoing process than some kind of event. Everyday life is mundane. I want there to be more events.
