@h Welcome! A friend put me onto https://partysha.re not so long ago but I hadn't properly checked it out (or IPFS more broadly) until this morning. To be honest I still don't really get it all but that clip felt like an appropriate thing to try sharing 🙂

@tether@schlink@distelfliege What I wrote in my blog post about #DeleteFacebook, among other things, is that the difference is not only in how Mastodon treats data vs Facebook but also what data it even asks for in the first place - which is not a lot at all. No real names, no dates of birth, relationship statuses, workplaces, schools, geolocations - people dump so much personally identifiably information into Facebook just because it has profile fields that ask for it.

It does look like #hiveway has pulled some amateur-hour shit, and I am very curious to see how they respond to getting called out.
If they turn out to be not totally scammy, there's some interesting intention around a self-governed fully decentralized #mastodon instance. We've been learning a lot about instance self-governance at #socialcoop, and still have much to figure out, so I'm curious as to the in-depth rationales for their architecture.
@HerraBRE I don't know about special, I'm saying that you're evidently capable of thinking a few moves ahead and you're not superficial. You've unlazied yourself, that's a good thing.
