Really incredible news. Now, the eradication of #AIDS depends on governments and health care practitioners to ensure that everyone who needs testing and treatment gets what they need.
End to Aids in sight as huge study finds drugs stop HIV transmission
We learned a lot at #LinuxFest this weekend. Thanks to the conference organizers!
We loved hearing from the audience at our session about #FreedomBox and Personal Autonomy. We also loved learning more about other projects, like @mozilla's WebThings Gateway (shout-out to @jaller94 for his talk about re-claiming his IoT data!)

Explored any sewers lately? Built between 1832 & 1838, #Montrealโs collector sewer was the 1st of its kind in North America and a feat in civil engineering. Now, you can explore part of the channel in a multi-sensory experience at the @PointeaCalliere Museum!

@Gargron@immae Well, family doctor clinics do take walk-ins as well -- people who need (sometimes prompt) attention, but do not have emergencies. This is good because ot keeps hospital emergency rooms free for real or severe emergencies.
I believe Mondays are especially busy at clinics because people who got sick or had an issue arise over the weekend come in the next business day.
Mozilla is shutting down their IRC servers and moving to Discord, a proprietary chat service.
Hey Mozilla, aren't we forgetting something here? Our very own "Mozilla Pledge for a Healthy Internetโ states:
> Principle 2 The internet is a global public resource that must remain open and accessible.
> Principle 6 The effectiveness of the internet as a public resource depends upon interoperability (protocols, data formats, content), innovation and decentralized participation worldwide.
@Shrigglepuss@alexl This is true. Even better -- the desktop software does get point release updates, even without upgrading the entire OS. So you get those regular KDE frameworks versions as they are released (by updating, rather than upgrading).
I've never used rawhide, so I don't know how stable it is, but I think it's reasonably stable enough for some to choose to use it as their main OS. I don't bother with that because the stable release is very up-to-date.
@TrailRunner_B Yeah, such hate is horrifying, and so difficult to understand. It's becoming even more dangerous to be queer in many parts of the world lately.
We probably should all learn from people who are so brave as to stand up to threats like this. If they can do that, then we too can defend justice from our much more comfortable places.
