Today I made electronics to help transfer old WWII era 16mm film to a digital format.

It is pretty simple, just a stepper with some LEDs to provide light and the hardware to hold the film.

@clacke no. Facebook could split their servers up into a million federated servers controlled by facebook that connect the same as mastodon servers where you could block them or whatever. It would change nothing. That doesn't do anything to address the problem.

I think that an amazing addition to mastodon would be channels. Like IRC channels.

I imagine that there should be some differences but the idea of a persistent spot to see posts about a thing that you can decide to go into would be nice. People talk about different instances like that but in my experience that isn't how they work.
