@lain Another HK think is the speak into your hand thing. Super annoying. The people around you can't hear well what you are saying, fine. But the person on the other phone? Also cannot hear. -

@lain The SE / HK divide I think I told you about, it's when people switch back and forth between phone projecting from their mouth and phone projecting from their ear, because they believe they can hear better that way. -

@lain Also the European / South-East Asian divide (I'm assuming, from the Swedish / HK divide).
What's your divide? I believe my parents and I hold them the same when we're talking. Or do you mean when typing? "Young" (including me) people are two-thumbers and old people are phone in one hand, poke with the other people? -

Oh look someone had this exact issue on NixOS (which I'm on) ... and they decided "yeah that's how Gnome works" and closed it. Urfgh.

I just want to log out. Currently I'm doing `pkill gnome-session` for that.
https://ask.fedoraproject.org/en/question/30783/how-do-i-enable-the-logout-option-in-gnome-shell/
There was a org.gnome.shell.always-show-log-out back in Gnome 3.10, but here in the future (3.28) we don't have such luxuries.
I guess the easy way is to just register another user, but this is just so stupid. In conversation from social.heldscal.la permalink -

@scolobb Yeah, I noticed nothing locally and then I went to pull request and huh, why is the whole nix command help printed out here. In conversation from social.heldscal.la permalink -

When will I learn not to use backquotes when I git commit -am "blah" ?
The results are hilarious though.
I could use single quotes instead, but the results when I use apostrophes in the running text are less hilarious and just annoying. In conversation from social.heldscal.la permalink -

@rice @sim @nerthos @rye @thatbrickster @shmibs I'm not really talking platonic. I don't think a platonic "crush" involves any flutter in the chest, and I'm just talking about the flutter in the chest vs the boner. In conversation from social.heldscal.la permalink -

@nerthos @sim @rye @thatbrickster @rice @shmibs No no I've definitely had crush without boner and boner without crush. They're not orthogonal but they're not the same either. In conversation from social.heldscal.la permalink -

@eal But mostly if it coerces its arguments. If it requires both sides to have the same type I don't see any huge harm. In conversation from social.heldscal.la permalink
