once i got myself to the point where using tech as a societal vector in a meaningful way was possible, i ran into the same sorts of things. there's a lot of squandered potential, gatekeeping, gaslighting, abuse, etc, etc, etc,
a mess, for sure. i don't know if there's a place for me in any of that. save for inventing one, inside or outside of all that, mostly likely outside. which is risky ofc.

That said: in a way, the arts are better in this regard, because at least there's an understanding of hardship, but there's almost no accomodation for that, just "there's a million other people who want your slot, so if you even get one, you better not complain", pretty much

there needs to be a "if you won't CW content and hide the images, I will" button, on a per-account basis
if someone refuses to CW things, there's not much to do at present in response, other than mute/unfollow/hide boosts from accounts that boost their shit
being able to say "ok, i want to see this, i just need -- ~ need ~ -- to be able to choose when and how i see it", that would be very helpful
