this in a huge way. disabled beings have ongoing struggles over parental rights (or even being "allowed" to have kids at all). the same goes for parents in the LGBTQIA+ community.

having our visitation or custody rights taken away is a real thing, as is rejecting heteronormative norms and so-called values. overloading that in either direction to the point of weaponizing discourse isn't ok

i understand wanting to use words for their bite, especially (which is not the case here) if it has less direct, although still present, connotations.

but language....shrugs. the bite is *rhetorical*, not linguistic at some base level. if that's even relevent. (not a linguist)
