@claudiom Have you see Quake II RTX?
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/quake-ii-rtx-ray-tracing-vulkan-vkray-geforce-rtx/
It's a port of Quake 2 with time raytracing on top of Vulkan... and it looks amazing.

@claudiom Woohoo! Unexpected Bluecurve mention. 😄👍👍
(I can't believe it's been like 17 years or so since the first mockups & implementation.)
So the latest #RMS rant is... something else...
@theoutrider ukpol is pronounced, "...uhhhk, poll" (but it's 'non-binding', so they say...)
#LDAC codec is now available in #Fedora: https://apps.fedoraproject.org/packages/libldac …
Now let's make use of it in #PulseAudio and #PipeWire to improve sound quality in Bluetooth 🎧 in #Linux. ✌️
@claudiom Steam's efforts brought more games to Linux. Google's new gaming service will also bring more games to Linux... and probably wouldn't have been possible without Steam making a push for games on Linux.
Between the two? More games on Linux, improvements on Vulcan.
Hopefully Google's service lasts long enough to make a positive impact and is shut down quickly enough for others to not jump into cloud-only gaming.
Shout-out to 'myrepos'.
'mr up' and I have the repos I saved with 'mr register' all automatically checked back out in almost no time flat.
Simple and quick.
@sheogorath I had a subdirectory named the same thing as my work directory. After doing something else for a bit, I went back to the wrong terminal when I did an rm -rf. 😳
Accidentally somehow used 'rm -rf' on my work directory. 😱
Thankfully, everything important was backed up in various git repos. I think I did lose some work that wasn't checked in, but everything actually important should've'n checked in.
The worst thing is basically setting up various other remotes again.
On the plus side, there aren't several years worth of dirty branches laying about. 😁
As Easter is coming up, I'd like to take a moment to say that bunnies are cute but also huge dickheads. They're rarely docile and cuddly and will absolutely destroy everything you love.
They live 10+ years, cost as much as a dog, and need a lot of time and attention. 75% of rabbits in the UK are neglected and many bought at Easter don't even make it to a year old.
Know what you're getting into, or stick with chocolate. http://bunny.nipple.solutions
If you're an avid open-source user who would love to help advance a project, there's a lot you can contribute whether you can program or not:
Provide constructive feedback, file bug reports, improve the documentation or help out maintaining the web & social media presence. Spread the word and recommend the projects you love to others (btw, I run Arch 😂)
Say "thank you" and tell developers to "keep up the great work". That form of contribution means a lot more than you could possibly imagine.
@theoutrider Glad they went with Sega instead of SerGam.
Imagine Sonic games booting up with SERRRRR-GAMMMMMMMM.
@theoutrider Kirby, eating:
Eat an apple, turn into an apple.
Eat a banana, become a banana.
Eat a burger, Kirby's middle falls out onto a plate.
Interesting to see the extent to which Firefox must go to maintain compatibility with Google: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/mozilla.dev.platform/q5cj38hGTEA
Even when you manage to keep up with the latest standards you have to bend over backwards to avoid taking the blame for not implementing what Google implements (the de facto standard).
@jhaye @hyakosm PatternFly 4 has a switch with a check inside the gutter.
Same concept, but I really like this aesthetic and have seen it in actual physical switches too.
@claudiom (I know it's not 100% the same, one with data breaches and the other with tracking, but it's kind of related and I found it a bit funny.)
@claudiom I went to read the page on Slashdot titled "Stop Saying, 'We Take Your Privacy and Security Seriously'" and...
REMINDER FOR U.S. FRIENDS: The day after President's Day, don't forget to take your president down, clean it, and toss it into your neighborhood compost dump.
