I don’t really have a great tally in my head of who would appreciate hugs or love… I’m a little forgetful like that.

But just know that I’m sending each and every one of you, my friends—be you close or just someone who’s shared an amusing interaction with me—all of my love, and then some.

Even someone who isn't directly your friend can touch you in profound ways.

If you're friends with theirs, you can feel their presence. We're all connected.

You can add a caption, or alt-text, to images you toot!

These captions make your toots more accessible, by giving people who can't see the image a description of what's in the image.

Just hover over the image over you attach it and type a description in the spot that says "Describe for the visually impaired" before you hit the TOOT! button.

Please also encourage Mastodon app authors to add caption functionality. And please boost. Thanks!

I made the mp3 into an mp4 for Mastodon like this:

convert -size 160x90 xc:#000000 black.png

ffmpeg -loop 1 -i black.png -i song.mp3 -c:v libx264 -tune stillimage -c:a aac -strict experimental -b:a 192k -pix_fmt yuv420p -shortest song.mp4

Do not ask me what most of the ffmpeg line does. Like most ffmpeg use, it is black magic, understood only by ancient priests.
