@JubalBarca
Does it count if I just randomly roll your stats? You are a chaotic neutral Minotaur (it's legal in Dragonlance) monk. Your stats are 15,10,12,14,12,14. Done!
@scottnesbitt
The answer is Lego.
New episode of GNU World Order.
Next week or the week after, I want to do an episode on find, so if you have cool find tricks or hacks, *send them to me*
Also, @lostnbronx feedback on speex qual.
Fiends of lore: there's a new episode of Chronicles & Commons.

That's crazy! It does state in the description:
Source code remains property of Black Forest Games GmbH and is free for non-commercial use only
But hey, pretty cool.
@BrentNewhall I don't know of one that has the spells + descriptions all on one page, but there's https://open5e.com/Spellcasting/by-class/wizard.html which at least organises the spells by class and level. You still have to click through to read the description and find if there are reactions, etc.
@lostnbronx You're right. Apparently K9 Mail on my mobile phone isn't cutting off the closing parenthesis at the end of the URL.
@lostnbronx I'm getting a 404 on the epub for The Proposal.
@StuC $90 for replacement. Yowza. I paid $60 for the device.
@eliasg No, I have not. I read a lot of public domain stuff off gutenberg or indie stuff. No real need for Overdrive so far. Also, my ereader has never been online; not sure if Overdrive requires that or not.
@StuC Yeah that was my first thought. I've not been able to find the display. Got a link?
@lostnbronx @cobra2 yeah thrift store.
Hey mastodon, my Kobo e-ink ereader just broke. I need to buy a new one.
Requires:
• e-ink
• can be used without registering the device. If wifi is a feature, it will never be used.
• Linux-compatible
• Not-a-Kindle
I don't care about a backlight. I don't care about looks.
New episode of GNU World Order has been released. Hear me ramble on about Podwrite, my podcasting feed generator, static site generator, and publishing system.
@deoh Check out the 1980's narrative card game "Dark Cults" by Kenneth Rahman.
Designed as a 2 player game, one player plays Life, and the other Death, each controlling what happens to the main character.
There's also a solo variant.
It's well out of print, but I am working on an unofficial revival:
https://gitlab.com/notklaatu/darkoccult
@lostnbronx
https://gitlab.com/podwrite/podwrite/raw/master/mkenc.sh
It's 2 days old; expect improvements/changes, but basically:
$ mkenc.sh --help
# gen ogg,opus,speex,m4a from foo.flac:
$ mkenc.sh foo.flac
# gen only ogg (or opus, etc):
$ mkenc.sh --ogg-only foo.flac
#gen all but aac (or opus, etc):
$ mkenc.sh --no-aac foo.flac
There some options here and there (bitrate, etc). I also force a mixdown to mono, hardcoded, because podcasts in stereo are dumb.
Requires:
sox, fdk_aac (or other), opusenc, speexenc, oggenc
@lostnbronx Are you kidding me?
speexenc was a HORRIBLE command.
speex sounds terrible at the same file size as opus.
I'm glad to be rid of it. Maybe it's great in telephony (maybe not; I don't know) but it has no place in my heart or my feed.
Sorry, didn't mean to lash out, but basically I feel stupid for having held out for so long.
I want 2018 to be the year that Apple stops including empty _MACOSX directories in every zip file their users create.
I swear I've deleted over a thousand of them in the past decade.
Alternately, Mac users could switch to Linux this year and learn tar+gzip. But hey, whatever works.
Wouldn't it be neat if someone hunted down all the #creativecommons and open #RPG lore, and talked about it on a #podcast?
You could hear about a bunch of lore, then use it in your #tabletop game design or fiction writing or #art.
A patchwork, #opensource Forgotten Realms.
Introducing....
I've got 27 recorded for weekly release but if you know of good CC or open (no Product Identity) content I can review, tell me about it. If you want to contribute an ep, contact me.
