Integers and floating-point numbers have different feels. Integers feel rigid, blocky and practical. Floating-point numbers feel soft, fluid and mathematical.

I rather like floating-point numbers.

I'm used to rain being a sideways affair that takes pride in not only mocking your puny umbrella, but also getting in your ears and up your nose.

I wish people understood "you can just set up your own server!" is not a good answer to people with instance issues.

It's true *in theory*.

If you have the money to pay for a server to run it on. 5 USD a month may not be a lot to *you* but it's out of some people's price range.

If you have the technical knowledge to set up and admin something like Mastodon. Not everyone does, and not everyone who lacks it has the time and resources to learn.

That's why stable, well run instances matter.

Some people seem to be determined to get this instance isolated by simply ignoring some common sense suggestions about controlling the publishing of content.

TBH if thats what you want, go somewhere else, Mastodon is not for you.

This platform gives you the chance to operate a shop window while controlling the access others have to your content to protect minors and others and being considerate of other communities.
