@lnxw48a1 @kaikatsu I only ever see them in "designer" sites myself, these days. General use seems to have bettered out, but it may just be I avoid the more sketchy mainstream sites.

@maiyannah @camoceltic Going down the rabbit hole of "pref flips" leads to a place of creepyness. A lot of what Mozilla does is in the "hidden in plain sight" category.
"What percentage of users do you want in each branch?"
This looks like deliberate manipulation of user behavior with discussions of the legality of what they're doing and "risk matrix" but with whoever is on the team "signing off". The language is often not easy to interpret though, due to jargon.
Whenever I read these Mozilla threads I always come away from it feeling like I've emerged from some disturbing nightmare. It's the cynical way in which they talk about users.
-
@camoceltic Moreover they pushed the patch via Normandy, a secret ish backdoor system which allows remote code execution on the browser without user knowledge or consent.

Don't use Firefox if you value the continued operation of your browser, your privacy, and your security. That's the lesson to take from that.
-
If you still use Firefox after alll that has happened lately, I can't help you.

@perloid @clacke@libranet.de its very "Greetings, fellow kids" to me

@lnxw48a1 NewEgg is atrocious for that kind of thing, they actually have a reputation for it. Many storage places have community mailboxes or similar they rent, this is what I use for my packages.

@purplehippo Fun has the low, low cost of 75$ per character.
-
@purplehippo They tried that again with the Fel Spreaders in the pre-event for Legion
I dont think I know of anyone that actually got 'infected' or whatever with them, and it was easily 4-5 times what peak normal playerbase is, it actually was probably the best pre-expansion go at things out of all the expansions with the invasions thing going.
-
There's probably about an average of a thousand ish people playing WoW at any time nowadays. Nothing to shake a stick at, but nowheres near its heyday peak Wrath of the Lich King.
-
@lnxw48a1 The playerbase is massively reduced from how it was in its heyday but its still got a decent many people playing it.

@purplehippo So they're the Darn Ass Assassins?

Really someone needs to write a browser from scratch with none of the bollocks that Firefox and Chrome have both encrusted into them. Just read standard HTML and CSS and thats it.
Might even do that myself if I can summon up the time between all this bullshite I'm dealing with.
