It's right but it's ridiculous to think that someone won't/can't make a backup.
And the more people will wine about it the more it's going to get backed up.
If the server licenses your post is under a permissive license then you have nothing to say, it's now legally public data.
Morality if you don't want your stuff to be archive, don't stay stuff in public spaces and read the licenses.

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

“All governments suffer a recurring problem: Power attracts pathological personalities. It is not that power corrupts but that it is magnetic to the corruptible.”

@lnxw48a1 Gotta get them clicks I guess. Not going to say it isn't newsworthy, because if it's true it is, but probably not all that relevant to financiers.
-
@lnxw48a1 What I want to know is how that's financial news.
-
Spooky-Hyjal, bestest orb carry buddy, may you ride eternal, shiny and chrome.
-
@lnxw48a1 @moonman It hasn't changed much, we just obfuscate that layer as much as we can. Much of programming just comes down to FILO stacks.
-
@lnxw48a1 If the barometric pressure changed significantly, that can fool these sorts of things in smartphones etc
-
@macgirvin @strypey Ostatus kind of has something like that with scopes, which give broad levels of control over things, but it is largely buried in the code because it was felt by the developers (and I agree) that it gave people a false sense of security.

@lnxw48a1 Spiders are great.

@purplehippo Destroids wish they were as awesome as Daft Punk

@lnxw48a1 I'm often one of the first and few people on the fediverse to go to bat for the police, having been in those shoes myself a long time ago, but I have never ever ever heard anyone inside or outside of the police speak a good word about SFPD.

@purplehippo At the end of the day, any testimonial that a distributor, publisher, or developer puts up, is suspect, because they wouldn't put it up if it didn't benefit from them, and in this day and age, you never can be entirely sure that the person wasn't on the take unless you know and trust them personally. This is why grassroots review efforts are pushed back against in the industry. As far as any of those three are concerned, you either play their game or you need to get out. It's why I've never particularly cared to get close to any developer or publisher in the professional sense, it only erodes your user's trust, and you're just a disposable PR mouthpiece in their eyes.
-
@purplehippo You should never, ever trust reviews from a seller's own page if they curate them at all, because if they do curate, it is always, always going to be in their own favour.
-
@purplehippo They can hand-wring and waffle around it, the bottom line is that they only care about off-topic reviews when it reduces their sales.

Dear Steam: editorials are not news

@postmesmeric @purplehippo The title and the theme is what captivates people, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't have a soft spot for the vampire-themed mythology (hell, my av is what, again?) but there's better than this is likely to be out there.
Hell, there's better out there for free, but people always bristle when I say that.
