@gllmhyt Looks like the site software was intercepting the URL, try now?
-
$ php ./delete_orphan_files.php
Finding File entries that are not related to a Notice (or the notice has been deleted)... 88523 found.
Eesh, time to do some housecleaning.
-
Also looks like something is looking for webfingers in the wrong place all the time.
-
I am going to have to teach postActiv to ignore extraneous bullshit like that since Mastodon likes to do that a lot.
-
Ugh looks like Mastodon's sending hugeass html error pages instead of just http codes.
-
God this shit makes me want a smoke. Bah.
-
If you do know the protocol, rather.
-
I find most of mastodon's noises in this regard to be security theatre, because there is no actual mechanism that protects private posts that you can't get around if you don't know the protocol. The only effective means of this is E2EE with a strong cipher, which it does not use. I've been saying this since Mastodon started and I'm certainly not going to stop now. You can call me miss meanfacie or Debbie Downer all you like, I don't give a shit. We have vulnerable people whom use this platform as a safe space, and there's some of them that if their respective governments found out the stuff they've been saying in a space they considered to be private, they're screwed. People disappear in some of the countries like that. It's serious business, and I don't think people treat it with the gravity it's due.
-
At the end of the day, any security method which relies upon moral compunctions on the part of bad actors is inherently 100% insecure, because any such system (such as advisory privacy) requires only one (1) bad actor doing one (1) bad thing in one (1) instance and all security of the system has been compromised and rendered moot.

@ninjawedding The threat model is the same. Ignore it at your own peril.
-
@ninjawedding Why not? If ypu act in a way you know exposes you to certain risk, you cannot then act surprised and aghast when that risk is fully realized. Every day I run on my prostheric knowing its gonna make my leg feel like shit afterwards. That isnt a failing of the prosthetic, thats an assumed risk of that exercise. Likewise, anything done in public should be done as if every moment is being recorded. Because it is. PRISM still exists, you know.
-
Fully expect theyll quietly remove it and then call the people who pointed it out liats, personally. Malicious little shits.
-
GOG said they wouldn't have regional pricing, now I can't even be gifted things by my friends. because of regionalization.
GOG said that they'd only bring quality games onto their platform, then they put Daikatana on there, the archetypical "bad game".
GOG said they'd let you return games, but its only if they decide it doesn't work, despite your statutory rights.
GOG said they wouldn't have DRM, and now it's got shit on there with bleeding SecuROM.
GOG can get stuffed.
-
GOG: We won't have DRM!
Also GOG: > has fucking secuROM
That's the DRM that was so bad it fucking bricked computers, but I imagine most of GOG's audience is too young to remember it.
I am sick of this industry blatantly lying to my face and that being okay. If you're going to make excuses for this, don't bother, I don't care to hear it.
-
@ninjawedding What you say in a public space can and will be archived, and there is very little anyone can do about it.
-
@gllmhyt www.postactiv.com/postActiv.zip (284 MiB) It's the current working dir so it has the entire git in it.
I should probably make a version which is without all the git history too ... that'd be a lot smaller xP
-
So, the git repo hosting software (gitea) for !postActiv has developed a crashing problem which appears to be as a result of a bug that has been open and unfixed in gitea for a significant amount of time now, so I am probably going to end up having to set up gitlab again.
In the meantime, you can find the current working dir zipped up here: www.postactiv.com/postActiv.zip (284 MiB)
Reposts appreciated, since other federating software don't really do groups.

@gllmhyt Uploading my working directory zipped up to the site, for now, but even zipped its rather large. Will reply again when its done uploading!

@kaniini groups, polls, blog posts, bookmarks have all been available over OStatus for years. At least acknowledge that it has been doing these things when you shill for its inferior successor.

@mangeurdenuage Maybe needs some electrolytes because of the problems he has had, they get very thirsty when that is the case. One of my family dogs was like that because of a genetic condition.
