Are you going to be looking for replacements after the move, or is that page in your life turned?

@why I think someone's appreciation of Shenmue will vary a lot depending on how blown their mind is at what it's doing. Once you stop being amazed at how detailed it is and how it celebrates mundane normal life stuff, what you're left with is a) a game that forces you to do long busywork or wait around for progression, b) quite clunky combat that you don't really get to play enough of to get a good grasp on, c) QTEs, and d) minigames that were, again, impressive in context but nowadays if I want to play Space Harrier, I'll just load up an emulator and Space Harrier.
Not saying it's impossible to enjoy, I think I still can sometimes, but you need to have a lot of free time to waste to not feel frustrated at how Shenmue uses that time.

Managed to fix up a couple of issues I had with the DevTerm RISC-V module, now got it to a point where it's usable. Got my wm (spectrwm) going and Weechat configured. Setting the PlatformIO environment is likely going to be a challenge

@lnxw48a1 A space tech company is not a speech platform, though. If I was spending my work day making writing, distributing and seeking signatures for letters about how much I don't like my bosses I would be fired, and it wouldn't be because a reflection of my bosses' attitude towards free speech; simply that in my I'm paid to push in the direction my bosses ask me to, not to argue and undermine them.

@why Good times

Mitsu and I went to see Jurassic World Dominion.
Action sequences were good.
Writing was exceedingly stupid, even for the standards of the franchise.
Movie was about 20 minutes too long.
Still had fun.

@why No matter how much you exaggerate, it still doesn't match the "sure, bro" levels of the initial Star Citizen pitch.

@Ricotta @Mitsu The problem is not functional, it's cosmetic, but we got this one because we liked the look of the tabletop, so I am certainly not going to have paid full, new price for an item that has a very big visible blemish right from the start

@Moon Oh absolutely! The glopping noise will echo within the SAO canon forever!
-
Two years worth or morb made a glopping noise as it morbed endlessly into Asuna.

@helene You mean like ERP?

@why @D-Droid @Pendragon @coolboymew >its all been poorly managed expectations
That was the issue with Fallout 76 too. People don't stop and think as a game designer and assumed that they could take a Fallout game and make it an MMO without dramatic changes to the game design. There's a reason why MMOs either allow players to make impactful changes to the world only through heavy use of instancing, restrict player impact on the narrative, or end up feeling like theme parks, and the "remove NPCs from the equation" was Bethesda's initial solution to this game design problem. Maybe not the right one in retrospect since they're put NPCs back in, but the "MMO problem" (how to make everyone feel like they're meaningfully "the hero of the game") is not an easy one to solve.
