    norms are likely important in determining a case, but until some gets sued for it, very difficult to know where the line is. Of course, if there is a lawsuit, and the CC community doesn't like the way it turns out, they can come out with 5.0 or 4.1 or whatever to address the issue.

    There have been some posts about ActivityPub I haven't replied to. I think a couple of them were directly trying to bait my interest, given how often I have talked about Worse Is Better and lisp machines vs unix here, and how I have been talking about bringing object capabilities to ActivityPub since before AP was even a W3C recommendation. (You don't need to throw out AP to do it.)

    However, instead of just writing about things, I'll be building solutions. Announcement coming early Feb.

    I wish I had could tell you how it works in Linux, but at work, I have Windows and can tell you Windows does it fine.

    Of course, it may well not be Windows, but may be this little Dell docking station I have. The Dell docking station *might* work on a Mac. I can send you dets if you're interested in looking into it.

    of course, it largely died in 2018. CCHQ is making it hard for ccmixter and the #CCMA.

    Mike has said he's bringing the netBlocs back in 2019, and that should help, but aside from Dominic, there's just not a lot of new blood in the scene.

    Since #Linux has adopted the penguin as its logo, it would be great to see the #LinuxFoundation donating to some organizations that are helping to save threatened penguin species like the Hoihi, or Yellow Eyed Penguin. Maybe the #GNUProject could contribute something to wildlife conversation on the African Savannah, where the real Gnu live? #NoSoftwareFreedomOnADeadPlanet

    Had a big pep talk today about culture and how we lost it in 4th quarter.

    Um, that's because the Sales team was told not to play ping pong. There is, of course, a happy medium, but it's not like these things happen out of thin air.

    On the plus side, we are bringing in some consultants for some things. CEO acknowledges he can't just keep asking people to work harder, so that's positive.

    read the article and it's premise is false. No one is forced into car ownership. I haven't had a car since 2013. I know others without cars as well.

    That said, the light rail expansion will be most welcome.

    Skyway expansion would be welcome too. I don't get it the reliance on the Skyway though. It's Minnesota. Buy a parka.
