♲ @Satori@mastodon.thirring.org: Hi everyone, hope all are doing okay! 😊BunMum is back at it with the annual report (it is at the super gross high up stages) but we are all doing well. I decided to dine al fresco from my loo today and dragged all my hay out! 😁 -Skye 💕 #SkyeLove
Over the past few days as a result of the recent #twittermigation and all the new #introduction posts I've made numerous comments similar to this, so I figured I'd just make one Pinned Blog post and link to it instead
I first started using the 'verse >10 years ago, back when it was just called "de-centralized microblogging" (which was actually pretty centralized from my recollection of identi.ca being the only instance that really was up more often than it was down) I never really used it as my primary Social Media for big part because I didn't really "get" it, until I gave up Facebook for Lent this year and decided I was finally going to dive all in to GNU Social whether I liked it or not.
Here is what was most helpful for me in understanding how this all works. #ItWorksLikeEmail
your email provider can have its own rules, (like you can't send spam), and you can chose to host your own server(where you make the rules, but most people chose not to), and you can talk to anyone else in the world who has an email address (regardless of whether or not you are both on yahoo.com), and while most people just use it for one thing, it can be used for others (like posting to mail lists, or forums that have integrated mail support)
!Wisconsin Are there any openly gay Wisconsinites here? With #prideMonth being such a big deal, particularly to capitalists trying to make a buck, I feel like we have lost the true meaning of June as Wisconsin Dairy Month. I wonder if GSM Wisconites feel similarly or if I'm way off base. Wisconsin dairy farmers are under attack like they haven't been as long as I've been alive. Store shelves are being stocked with all kinds of milk that aren't actually milk.
In June shouldn't we be focused on eliminating discrimination in all its forms? If we oppose intolerance, should we not fight to eliminate lactose intolerance?
Thanks to the #RedditMigration and #redditBlackOut the "flagship" instances of #lemmy and #kbin have been experiencign the "hug of death" #DdOS If you have the ability to spin up an instance to help out, please do. Alternatively get folks to register for smaller instances like lemmy.ca fedi.io feddit.de and even ones that ar e primarily in languages other than your own fedia.io/
When is Wisconsin going to takle it's meth problem?
