They are being targeted by border cops: 8 hours after the release of a report showing border cops' destroying water stations, they charged an aid worker with felony harboring for providing water to two people.

ran masto through the webaim accessibility checker. if you view the page without any style (as someone using a screen reader might), it's, uh... awful. i couldn't figure out how to post this toot without reloading back to its styled state.

@h definitely... i was just saying earlier how tedious it is that we have to sell accessibility features as beneficial to everyone— like to get the tech bros to care about audiobooks we gotta market them as something they can listen to at the gym or in the car— but it’s true. people in general benefit from accessing info in different formats. i used to LOVE audiobooks when i was driving a lot. now i like them because i don’t have concentration to read.

Purdue Pharma is under federal investigation for misleading marketing of oxycontin. (Purdue says oxycontin lasts 12 hours, which it doesn't, but when prescribed that way, patients can experience opiate withdrawals after every single dose, which is a great way to trigger an addiction when the opiate is potent enough. Purdue admitted to this in a similar investigation in 2007.)
