@JPEG Yeah, I saw that it works quite well with more links (like on your profile). Maybe you’ll find a better way to handle this, but no hurry, it’s just a minor cosmetic issue.

@xdkn1ght as far as I know you can go into Settings > Security, then change the email address and press save changes to change the email address

@khamethyst Thanks for the suggestion! Yes, I’m aware of this list and already took a look at it. Having said that I was just curious which instances people would recommend to me based on their experiences.

@mariusor After some months of following each other I have no doubts about the admin skills of @thomas (the admin)

Can anyone recommend a general purpose Mastodon instance (other than mastodon.social) to me?

The most impotant things I’m looking for are

- a responsible & reliable admin
- main language: English or German

A halfway active local timeline would definetely be a plus as well

Any pointers would be hugely appreciated!

After a year and a half of not hearing anything from F-Secure about their purchase of Little Flocker I’m starting to wonder about what happened to it

- stable and no compability problems so far

- dark mode is nice, although it’s a bit too dark imo

- while the additions to Finder & the mark-up stuff are no game changers, it’s nice have them

- happy to see iOS like access / privacy controls

- Marzipan apps feel very rough and alien since they’re basically stretched iOS apps not optimized for keyboard & mouse

Overall a solid update focusing on some basics and laying the foundations for future developments

@danyork In general I like dark modes and thus was excited about macOS Mojave because bright backgrounds tend to dazzle me a bit. They’re not terribly bad, but my eyes just enjoy less brightness.

Unfortunately, Mojave’s dark mode is so dark such that the higher contrast between background and text is annoying as well.

@SlowRain That’s true, but probably not when it’s just covering the right half of your face because your shaver has stopped working 😜

@SlowRain Yeah, having a back-up method is not a bad idea.

Fortunately, I still have a simple three-blade shaver, so I don’t have to walk around looking a half-shaven fool 😃
