@strypey Here, no. Insurance companies, mostly. To underline the point: the use of force policies in many police departments are determined mostly by the requirements of insurance companies. Politicians have very little to do with anything; organizations they mandate do most of the regulating: FDA, OSHA, similar. Those organizations are mostly immune to public sentiment, opinion, and input -- and operate responsively to the insurance cartel.

I would argue that this is not an issue for politicians, but for doctors and hospital administrators. I've nothing else to say about this.

@strypey @moonman i'm not a hospital administrator. I'm a member of the public who doesn't even vote on the issue as no one runs on it.

If I read 10,000 positive studies about therapy dogs, I would still think they should be confined to a wing of the facility away from immunocompromised patients, and i don't think regular people off the street should bring their pets with them, with very limited exceptions for ADA-recognized assistance dogs.

No study is going to contradict that position. :-)
