@vfrmedia @calvin Such is the life. I guess that unless there is a country-wide system mandated by the government, it won't be better. So maybe Korea and Estonia? Who are probably often learning they locked themselves into solutions that are inferior and won't be able to replace them in a decade.

@vfrmedia @calvin We actually have smartcards with certificates and all that infra. Local govt probably has too (at least my mother speaks they also use cards). I have no reason to believe it's a bad solution, it just doesn't scale outside of the organization (nothing bad with that).

@vfrmedia I have a soft spot for some Russian and Finnish stuff (maybe not wise to put it together, but it's actually quite similar). They also call it harmonika.

@vfrmedia However, "harmonika" is a term normally used for accordion in Czech. (Even in derived use like for an articulated bus.) Actual harmonica (mouth organ) is usually called "foukaci harmonika" (blow harmonica).

@vfrmedia I have never seen this type of accordion before, but the music isn't much different from what I'd expect from a southern Moravia folk band. Not really into this, however.

Garden colonies are just a tiny plot of land to use as a rich person would own a ranch or a summer residence. Lot of DYI and a crazy mess, but it doesn't give those people a mortgage for the rest of the life. You can't build huge permanent houses there, so the prices of those aren't super high.

@vfrmedia These places are just crazy. I may be doomed to rent a place for all my life, but when I look at the alternative, I'm perfectly happy with it.

The website is a cross between parody and serious criticism and they are quite heavily into this nihilist cynical critique of everything. They don't spare people like me either, so at least that :D

This is one of the very few things from Brno (it's about Prague, well, this one, but nvm) that has any value. It's cynical, vulgar and kinda true in a sense. Not your average teenager's critique of capitalism though.
