@rice Would likely have to jailbreak it first. -

Looks like the server may only take 2.5" drives. No front caddy means only one drive too (which I already knew). I have at least three I can choose from. -

@cereal We don't speak of that project for they know not of what they are doing. -

I also learned Big Endian allows for 32-bit and 64-bit but Little Endian only allows for 64-bit.
Schooled me. I always thought you needed binary translation for 32-bit on 64-bit hardware. -

At least you'll know who to turn to for whenever Lain wishes to make an OS out of Pleroma... -

If that memory works I can always buy more. I'll reach my 8 DIMM target but with 64GB(!) of total RAM capacity.
Pleroma CI much? -

Severely underestimated how picky memory choices for the server are. I've had to cut back on the amount of memory I'm after to 4 DIMMs.
At least they were 8GB each with 1Rx4 characteristics. £53 from China but bought from eBay so I have PayPal's buyer protection. -

Severely underestimated how picky memory choices for the server are. I've got one that's 1Rx4GB as the manual says only 4GB DRAM modules are supported.
Getting 8 of those is mental but is the best option for peak bandwidth and memory interleave capabilities. -

Hot on the heels of the Erodgan… no.. Euro… Eug… no… Eunomia (whew, what a great name!) announcement, the Pleroma team would like to announce Pleroma’s official strategy of anti-abuse on the Fediverse: PunkBuster
By implementing the award winning PunkBuster we will be able to stop trolls in their tracks by actively monitoring their actions on their desktop computer and mobile devices effectively blocking them from communicating on the Fediverse. PleromaFE will prevent the abusive user from clicking “Submit” button by using the following advanced javascript algorithm which is enabled when PunkBuster detects abhorrent behavior:
$('button').on('mouseover',function() { $(this).css({ top: (Math.random()*100)+'%', left: (Math.random()*100)+'%' });});
We look forward to sharing more details with you in the coming months. Together we can end the tyranny of Reports through cutting edge technical solutions.

2GB DIMMs are unsupported. I need at least 4GB per RAM stick. 8x4GB and we get 32GB and a burning hole in my wallet.
Oof. -

TIL it's better to spread the DIMMs across banks instead of filling the first 8 slots. That way I'd be using all 4 Memory Buffer (Centaur) chips, meaning it would utilise the entire L4 cache.
Good thing I bought 8 DIMMs as I believe the server uses the RAM in pairs; had I have bought less than 8 I would have fucked up pretty bad. -

Crisis averted; standard DIMMs will work fine as a reviewer hasn't bothered with CDIMMS either. Maybe they're more for those looking for higher memory density.
