@melpsn also discovered that thanks to the 8-day data detox Mozilla recommended. I can recommend that one if you want to find out about more than Google's privacy settings.
@lauraritchie I've spent years trying to get a puffy loaf! But so far, what has helped is longer proofing, as said above. And really good flour that has a high protein content! (I.e. More gluten, which gives the dough its springiness)
Hey Mastodons, I hear you like open source and federation, so I'd like to tell you about https://gettogether.community/ an open source, federated(*) event planning service similar to Meetup

"People are taking the piss out of you everyday. They butt into your life, take a cheap shot at you and then disappear. They leer at you from tall buildings and make you feel small. They make flippant comments from buses that imply you’re not sexy enough and that all the fun is happening somewhere else. They are on TV making your girlfriend feel inadequate. They have access to the most sophisticated technology the world has ever seen and they bully you with it. They are The Advertisers and they are laughing at you.
You, however, are forbidden to touch them. Trademarks, intellectual property rights and copyright law mean advertisers can say what they like wherever they like with total impunity.
Fuck that. Any advert in a public space that gives you no choice whether you see it or not is yours. It’s yours to take, re-arrange and re-use. You can do whatever you like with it. Asking for permission is like asking to keep a rock someone just threw at your head.
You owe the companies nothing. Less than nothing, you especially don’t owe them any courtesy. They owe you. They have re-arranged the world to put themselves in front of you. They never asked for your permission, don’t even start asking for theirs."
@nino fabuleux. Elle a oublié la fin : « mais vous êtes à vélo... donc si je vous cogne y a des chances que vous y passiez et donc pas de témoin, pas de soucis avec la justice ! »
@katebowles yeah the hottest 100 is a great cultural symbol most people appreciate, it's such a perfect kick-starter for an actual shift. How do we keep the momentum and where do we go from here? Are people talking about an obvious alternative?
Here's that feeling that nothing is working and everything is decaying. Anyone familiar with it? Maybe especially prevalent with people like me who try to live with not much money, value DIY and toy around with old computers and Free Software...
Clowns take their makeup seriously - it's bad form to use someone else's makeup and hairstyle. So Matthew Faint runs the Clown Egg Register, a gallery of clown faces painted onto eggshells that serves as a sort of "copyright register" for clowns. https://www.ft.com/content/56cac980-e8f9-11e2-aead-00144feabdc0
I'm working on a draft proposal for converting our UK based online farm management collective into a not-for-profit open online co-operative society to promoting co-operative farm governance & more sustainable farming.
